Today, the charms of Italy are not diminished, but like many things in our world, can be harder to find. With Riccio, you will find the true Italy and a journey unlike any other.

Riccio, which means “urchin” in Italian, was founded by Belinda Nixon.  Belinda first fell in love with Italy in 1979 when, at 17, she took a gap year abroad before returning to the University of Texas. That year changed the trajectory of her life, and she completed her BA in Italian language and literature. She is fluent in Italian and has traveled throughout the country countless times, finding special affinities with her beloved city of Florence and the magical Mediterranean isle of Ischia.  

In 2015, Belinda founded a European retail fashion business bringing the exquisite work of small, niche ateliers and her own impeccably chic style to her clients in the U.S . As it grew, so did her depth of knowledge about the best of Italian culture.  When a group of clients asked her to show them Florence “her way” she embarked on creating a one-of-a-kind experience for the travel savvy group in May of 2022. It was too fun not to try and do it again and from there the travel business was born.

Wait-listed journeys have continued since and her list of destinations is constantly expanding.
